1950s Armchair Attributed to Paolo Buffa
Attributed to Paolo Buffa, this 1950s Italian armchair reflects the refined craftsmanship and elegant proportions for which the celebrated designer became known. Sculptural timber arms with carved lattice detailing and gently tapered legs frame generous seat and back cushions, balancing comfort with a light architectural presence.
Newly upholstered in a softly textured woven fabric, the pale blue upholstery is finished with contrasting piping that highlights the tailored lines of the original design. The fresh upholstery complements the warmth of the original timber frame while remaining sympathetic to the chair's mid-century character.
The generous proportions and open timber frame allow the chair to feel substantial without overwhelming a room.
The armchair is presented in excellent vintage condition. Newly upholstered, the original timber frame is beautifully preserved with light signs of age consistent with careful use.
Price indicated is per chair.
