Frequently Asked Questions
Are light bulbs included?
Bulb inclusions vary between fittings and will be noted on the individual product page. Where a bulb is not included, check the product specifications for the required globe type, wattage and fitting. If you’re unsure which bulb to choose, our team can help.
What colour temperature should I choose for my light bulbs?
For living rooms, bedrooms and dining spaces, we generally prefer a warm white around 2700K for a softer, warmer light. Around 3000K offers slightly greater clarity and can work well in kitchens and bathrooms. Cooler temperatures of 4000K and above create a whiter light better suited to highly task-focused spaces.
Can Tigmi lighting be dimmed?
This depends on the fitting, bulb and electrical setup. Where a light is dimmable, use a compatible dimmable bulb and dimmer. For hardwired lighting, we recommend discussing dimming requirements with your electrician before installation.
What should I know before purchasing a light online?
Check the dimensions, installation requirements and globe specifications listed on the individual product page, as these can vary between fittings. For pendants, consider both the scale of the fitting and its drop in relation to your ceiling height and the furniture below. If you’re unsure whether a particular light will work in your space, our team can help before you purchase.
Can I view a light before purchasing?
Yes. Many of our lighting pieces can be viewed at our Byron Bay showroom. As not every piece is held on the showroom floor, contact our team at sales@tigmitrading.com before visiting if there’s a particular light you’d like to see.
