Tangali Day Bed
The Day Bed is known as 'charpoy' in India and is an essential and historically significant piece of furniture. Versions of the charpoy are seen in most homes in rural India even today. The Tangali Day Bed is part of the second phase of the Tangali Collection by designers INODA + SVEJE for Phantom Hands. Innovation in cane weaving was a hallmark in the design process for the collection, coupled with hand contoured teak timber frames. The cane is wrapped and woven around the frames in the signature Tangali style.
Tangali - meaning cool breeze in the Kannada language - was named after the cool monsoon breeze that accompanied the designers visit to Bangalore in 2017. The Tangali designs were developed in collaboration with contemporary Milan based designers INODA + SVEJE and Phantom Hands.
