Tangali Bench
Named after the Kannada word for cool breeze, the Tangali Bench takes its name from the monsoon breeze that accompanied a visit to Bangalore in 2017.
Designed by Phantom Hands in collaboration with Milan-based INODA+SVEJE, Tangali brings together contemporary furniture design and Indian craft. Each bench is shaped by hand in solid teak, with natural cane woven directly around the timber frame by skilled artisans.
The long, low profile highlights the warmth of the teak and intricacy of the cane work, while the gently curved seat gives the bench its distinctive sculptural form. At 180cm long, it works beautifully at the end of a bed, along a hallway or as additional seating in a living space.
