Handelsmann and Khaw

Sydney based Tania Handelsmann and Gillian Khaw work collaboratively with their clients to develop elegant, carefully-crafted environments that marry the contemporary with the timeless and the spontaneous with the refined. Their end goal is to always capture the spirit of the home, which they do with a pinch of whimsy and romanticism, that helps to free their projects from confinement to a certain period or style.

HENNING KJAERNULF MID-CENTURY DANISH OAK DINING CHAIR WITH BOUCLE UPHOLSTERY

"These have such a great silhouette, they could make even the worst table look amazing."

BERNARD ROHNE MID CENTURY COPPER TABLE

"Love copper as a tabletop. These are unapologetically 1960's but we think would look very smart next to something not at all 1960's. "

METAFORA TABLE IN TRAVERTINE

"In a marketplace which is, to be honest, crowded with 80's inspired sculptural pieces, this is the one which will stand the test of time."

DIARABI TUAREG

"Tuaregs tick so many boxes. They’re patterned but can be paired with anything, they’re practically wipe down to withstand the toughest of families and the more battered they get the better they look. We like that this one has more of the leather’s earth tones than you usually see."

INGO MAURER UCHIWA LAMP

"Always been a fan of these (haha). Perfect on the wall of a Palm Beach 70's house."

1970's MARIO MARENCO DINING CHAIR WITH LEATHER UPHOLSTERY

"I am very attracted to 1970's Italian design and I use a lot of it in my projects. For these chairs, I love the organic feel of the wood and worn cognac leather but they also have a very sculptural and elegant appearance and could be incorporated into many different design styles."

CHARLES DUDOUYT OAK DINING TABLE

"I romanticize the idea of French 1940's pieces. I consider this one of his most timeless and characteristic pieces. It's an investment piece I would recommend for any of my clients. It's that classic."

SORIANA LOUNGE CHAIR & OTTOMAN

"Although very much a 70's Italian piece it feels very timeless in the design. The fabric looks like an old Missoni fashion print which I love. These pieces also have a very feminine silhouette while being very cozy."

UFO PENDANT IN ROSEBROWN

"I'm very drawn to fashion forward interiors and I love the colortone and use of silk on this pendant. I treat my lighting like the jewelry of the room and this is the perfect piece."

RILIEVO 01 IN CACAO

"I'm using a lot of chocolate brown and cognacs in my projects right now. This rug has the perfect tone to compliment. The graphics are very cool and make the rug more like an art piece. And not to mention, it's extremely soft."
