Future Perfect

Philosophy

The foundation of our brand is built on long lasting relationships with our artisans and skilled makers. Through our travels we have forged strong relationships and gained first-hand knowledge and understanding of the process and stories behind the pieces.  We source vintage pieces and work with weavers that use traditional methods of production ensuring the continuation of skills and knowledge for future generation and are committed to sustaining the economies and techniques of traditional artisans. It is important that we know the materials that have been used have been sourced ethically, with the lowest impact on the earth possible.

Environment

Our business will always impact the environment in some way, but we cannot consider Tigmi Trading to be a truly responsible company unless we work ceaselessly to reduce the inevitable negative impacts our business has on the earth.

We are dedicated to reassessing and evolving as we find better practices, to help minimise our impact on the environment as the world and our business changes.

We aim to work more regularly with made-to-order businesses that create only with purpose, that are able to ship directly to consumer therfore cutting down unnecessary importation.

We recycle all incoming packaging for outgoing orders and preference compostable and biodegradable packaging solutions and use recycled tissue with EcoAlliance certification.

We consciously select pieces that are made with sustainable materials, that have been sourced locally and produced ethically. While we can’t always ensure this is the case for our vintage products, we are thrilled that we are able to extend the lifespan of these timeless heirlooms. We aim to work with artisans and suppliers that share the same environmental values as we do.

For every rug sold, a tree is planted through our partnership with ReForest Now in an initiative to protect, conserve and regenerate our precious and biodiverse rainforests. Read more here.

As a company and in our personal lives we make a conscious effort to lighten our footprint on this earth.

In a modern world so consumed with immediacy, we choose to anchor ourselves in traditions of craftsmanship and considered design.

Social Impact

We are passionate about getting behind causes we are passionate about whenever we can. Most recently we worked in collaboration with Bloom & Give on their ’She Belongs in School’ initiative, that fights gender inequality in rural India, giving girls the opportunity of education and helps provide infrastructure to their vulnerable communities.
