Square Puktadozi Behri Cushion
Hand-embroidered Linen and Cotton Cushion by Artisan Links.
Artisan Links are a collective of 800 Afghani Refugee Women led by the infinitely resilient and dedicated Tahira Afridi. Providing access to meaningful work, respect for values and tradition and above all, sustainable financial independence.
Puktadozi, or 'filled stitch' refers to the method of embroidery, while the triangle motif is a common design for traditional Afghani embroideries.
Tigmi are proud to offer these unique and delicate, handwoven cushions that bring not only a highlight of colour to any space, but embody the story of the woman who wove it.
In purchasing these special pieces, you help to support the families and the livelihoods of these women and help to ensure the continuation of time-honoured skills and traditions that have been passed down generations.
Created as both a mindful and financial support to female Afghani refugees in Pakistan, Artisan Links has helped empower and uplift thousands of women in need, during dark times of war and displacement since 1985.
