Craig Ruddy - Fragile Stone

Fragile Stone by Craig Ruddy. Tigmi are honoured to present a limited edition series of prints from revered Australian artist Craig Ruddy's prolific collection of works. Best known for his portrayal of Australian First Nations people, Craig was also greatly invested in using his medium to advocate for causes that were close to his heart. Since his passing and in-line with his wishes, the Craig Ruddy Scholarship was established in his name at Flinders University. This annual scholarship helps to reduce financial barriers for First Nations medical students in the Northern Territory by providing study equipment and resources, mentoring or tutoring, or any other tangible needs. We hope that in presenting Craig's works, we are also able to bring light to this important initiative. This exhibition was made possible with the help of Craig's life partner Roberto Meza Mont whom we express our deepest love and gratitude. Fragile Stone references the juxtaposition between strength and weakness. Featuring two of Craig's favourite muses, Rhiannon and Larisa, he saw both women as strong and powerful, yet also fragile and soft. Digitally signed, Unframed.
