Vacuum your jute rug regularly OR take outside and gently shake to remove dirt and debris. Avoid powerful heads and stiff bristle brushes as these may cause damage to the rug fibres.
If spills occur, blot with a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing as this can cause the jute fibres to fray or become discoloured.
As each rug is made to order, jute has been carefully hand-dyed which means the colour is not as compressed into the jute as machine-dying. Because of this handmade nature, the colour is more susceptible to fading. We recommend placing out of direct sunlight and regular rotation to avoid a strong fade.
Jute rugs are highly sensitive to moisture, as water can cause fibres to swell and weaken. Avoid using water-based cleaning methods or exposing the rug to excessive humidity. Wiping with a damp cloth is fine.
