Jean Lerat Stoneware Vase 02
France, 1950s.
Signed and numbered by J. Lerat—renowned French ceramicist of the La Borne school—this 1950s pyrite stoneware vessel holds the quiet strength of fire, earth, and hand. Numbered 221, it has been is wood-fired and finished with a rich glaze that reveals layers of depth and texture.
Relieved and incised with organic markings, each piece reflects a considered approach to form and surface—shaped by hand, flame, and the raw nature of its material. A rare example of mid-century French ceramic tradition, rooted in the La Borne school.
