This vintage Moroccan Boujad rug was made around the late 70s and features a background of soft variegated blush, peach, taupe and cream with pops of pink throughout. This piece was handwoven and is lovely and soft, and is rich in history that will add so much personality and texture to your space.
Boujad carpets are named after the holy town of 'Budjad' in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where the carpets are made from many different tribes. These rugs are the said to be the most mystical of Moroccan rugs, and tend to feature pinks and oranges with irregular geometric patterns and designs that reflect the whim of the weaver.
Boujad rugs are a really wonderful piece of 'folk' art that tell a tale of the lives for the women who make them.
