Counting Stars Marmoucha
This Marmoucha rug featuring an ivory background with black diamond lattice and muted red/purple, is a 50 year old vintage piece from the southern region of the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The symbols in this piece represent both the female and male figure, as well as mating.
The Marmoucha belong to the Berber Zanata group, and originally they only produced white carpets with a diamond lattice called 'darma' (chessboard). Both women and men were involved in the weaving process.
Made from high quality 100% wool, this rug will add so much warmth and history to your space.
