This vintage Moroccan Rehamna rug is over 45 years old and features a gorgeous background of muted pink and peach with a brown 'sawtooth' edge unique to many rugs made in this particular region. Pops of soft peach, steel blue, yellow and brown give this handwoven, one-of-a-kind rug so much personality and texture.
Rehamna rugs are from the Haouz region in the plains northwest of Marrakech, are mostly distinguished by their 'sawtooth' border. They tend to feature reds and oranges with irregular geometric patterns and designs that reflect the whim of the weaver.
Rehamna rugs are a really wonderful piece of 'folk' art that tell a tale of the lives for the women who make them.
