A departure from the curvaceous forms Softedge is renowned for, this collection is a return to architectural style of hard slab hand-building. Inspired by Italo Cavino's novel Invisible Cities (1972) whose evocative descriptions blend ancient architecture with the accoutrements of contemporary life - each piece conjures up forms that are a little hard to place, speaking simultaneously to neolithic pottery and contemporary steel construction.

About the artist: Softedge is a ceramic-based project by maker and designer Layla Cluer based in Northern NSW, devoted to the sculptural possibilites of everyday tactile objects, and the spongy edges of their disciplines. Currently taking form as an ever-evolving collection of slip-cast wares and an ongoing series of editions intended to be both functional and aesthetic.
