Designed 1960-69 by industrial designer Olivier Mourgue (born 1939) in Paris France.
This original 1960s piece has been completely re-foamed and restored and then lovingly reupholstered with French wool boucle.
In 1963 Olivier began his most fruitful collaboration working with Airborne International where he designed his famous Djinn Series, named after the supernatural Djinn (genie) from Arabian fairy tales that could assume human or animal form. The collections anthropomorphic qualities were representative of a new direction in sculptural furniture design.
