A striking vintage rug handwoven in Morocco using traditional methods. The wool was carefully and densely woven by hand on a loom and would have taken over three months to weave in the 1960s.
Incredibly soft and thick underfoot in beautiful cobalt with a the classic lozenge in ivory and black - the finish of this piece is both beautiful and durable - a functional work of art
Known for creating very special deep pile carpets, often using brown, aubergine, blue, deep mauve and dark tangerine, the Beni M'Rirt tribe hails from the northern Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. We work to preserve the remarkable skills of the woman weavers by sourcing both vintage and contemporary pieces that continue to sustain the methods and techniques that have passed down from generations.
