Guide to | Habitat Byron Bay

Habitat is the home to Tigmi Trading's studio and is the first entirely self-sustained village in Byron Bay. It opened its doors in late 2017 and bias aside, it has become home to some our favourite shops, fitness studios and food.

Some of our team might start their day with Pilates at Bende or an F45, before a daily visit to Barrio to fuel up with coffee or lunch. Here is a little guide to our favourite spots to hang out when we’re not working away at the studio:

One of the most convenient things about working at Habitat is the fact that just a few meters away are some of the best yoga, barre and mat and reformer Pilates studios in the Byron. We have the team at Bende Byron Bay (led by Emma Seibold) to thank for keeping us motivated and in shape. We love that we can make a class before or after work without needing to commute (or twice a day in Ella’s case).

Home to some of the best local labels in fashion, kids wear and homewares, Habitat Collective we're a bit spoiled for choice. Think Rowie, Sahanna, East Coast General, Byron Bay Hanging Chairs, Little Winnie and more. It’s all too tempting to nip over for a sneaky shop on the daily.

We love our chats with the lovely creative team at Beautiflora. They take care of the plants at the studio (we aren't too good at watering them) and create incredible sculpture-like floral arrangements to compliment the studio.

Aesthetica wins the “fit-out” with the most amazing arch hallway (we LOVE an arch) and they have an most extensive list of beautiful self-care treatments – from massage, to dermal therapy facials.

Another dangerous one for the mums in our team, not to mention the friends of mums in our team. Byron’s loveliest quality kids wear label Children of The Tribe’s have opened their first flagship store just opposite Tigmi Trading. They have an amazing collection of clothes and accessories for the free-spirited little people in our lives.

Linen, beach towels and beautiful coastal homewares. Need we say more? The Beach People are a bit of yin to our yang and we love everything they do.

A dreamy darkly lit space filled with apothecary branded in Shack Palace Ritual’s signature black and gold, a visit here is as relaxing as stepping out of a yoga studio. Everything is so mindfully curated to help you develop mindful rituals in the home, in every space, from bath time rituals, to morning Matcha rituals.
